Coresa, rebuilt: three programs and a simpler way in

Coresa now runs three programs. Small Group Training, capped at eight. 1-on-1 Personal Training. And a 40-minute HIIT class that takes up to twenty. That is the whole menu, and getting to it meant deleting more than we added.

This post is the reasoning, because a studio that quietly shrinks its timetable owes its members an explanation rather than a rebrand.

The problem with a long timetable

A long list of class names looks generous and behaves like a maze. Faced with eight formats, most people pick the one at the most convenient hour, discover it is not quite the thing they needed, and conclude that training does not work for them.

It is also dishonest by omission. Splitting one coaching approach across six labels implies six different products when what is really on offer is a room, some coaches and a set of principles. The names change; the squat does not.

So we asked a blunt question of every slot on the timetable: what does a person get from this that they could not get from something else we run? Most of the answers were variations on "a different name for the same hour", and those slots went.

What survived, and why

Three things survived, because they answer three genuinely different questions.

Small Group Training is for people who want to be coached. A maximum of eight, your station prepared before you arrive, loads chosen for you, and a program that progresses week to week. This is the studio's centre of gravity and the format most members spend most of their time in. The cap is the product: past eight, a coach stops coaching individuals and starts running a room.

1-on-1 Personal Training is for people who need the hour to themselves. A specific injury history, a technique rebuild, a deadline, or a schedule no group slot fits. It is the highest level of coaching we offer and it is deliberately not the default, because most people do not need it and should not pay for it.

HIIT Classes are for people who want to be driven. Forty minutes, treadmill intervals, strength and conditioning, up to twenty people, an instructor running the room. Nobody is prescribing your loads here — the energy is the point, and twenty people is what generates it.

If you are not sure which of the two group formats fits, we wrote a page that puts them side by side.

Things we stopped claiming

A rebuild is a good moment to audit your own marketing, and ours had accumulated some things that were not true.

None of these were lies anyone told deliberately. They were the residue of an old website, and residue is exactly what a rebuild is for.

A different way in

The bigger change is the door. Previously the site pushed you toward buying something; now it pushes you toward a conversation.

The free 15-minute consult is fifteen minutes in the studio, in street clothes, with no workout and no card. You see the room, we ask what you are trying to do, and you leave with a recommendation — including, sometimes, the recommendation that a different kind of training would suit you better.

This is not a softer sales funnel. It is a filter that works in both directions: a member who arrives in the wrong format leaves within two months, which is a worse outcome for us than never signing them at all.

And once you do start, the 30-day promise stands. Not loving your first 30 days? Your next two sessions are on us.

What has not changed

The room, the hours and the people. We are still at 142B 3rd Street West in Lower Lonsdale, still open 5:00 am to 8:00 pm every day of the week, still a six to eight minute walk uphill from the Lonsdale Quay SeaBus.

The equipment is the same rig, the same Woodway treadmills, the same dumbbells. The coaching approach is the same one members already know. What changed is that the website finally describes it accurately, and that there are three doors instead of eight.

If you want to see the room before deciding anything, the photo tour is honest about what is and is not here.

Common questions

Do I need to change my membership?

No. Existing arrangements carry over. If you are unsure which format your current sessions map to, ask a coach at the studio or call (236) 868-9964.

What happened to the class I used to book?

Almost certainly it folded into one of the three programs rather than disappearing. Strength-focused and circuit-style sessions live inside Small Group Training; interval and treadmill work lives inside HIIT Classes.

Is small group training more expensive than the classes I was doing?

Pricing depends on format and package, and the honest answer for your situation comes from a coach rather than a web page. Ask on a consult or by phone.

Can I still do more than one format?

Yes, and most people do. Two small group sessions plus a HIIT class is a common week.
